Lainie obtained her law degree from the University of Alberta in 2008. Lainie gravitated towards family law shortly after being called to the bar. The daily challenge of finding ways to help clients overcome their family law issues, coupled with the rewarding feeling of success in making a difference for families, a real difference, was simply exhilarating.

Lainie enjoys all aspects of her practice, but she lives for those moments when she helps broker settlements between parties.
With over a decade of experience in family law, having spent time both in the trenches of a courtroom and participating in various Alternative Dispute Processes, Lainie strongly believes in the benefits of mediation. Lainie is dedicated to providing assistance to individuals and families who are searching for a different, more amicable way, to resolve divorce or separation issues.

Other than being a mediator, Lainie also loves working with children. She strongly believes that children should have a voice in proceedings that directly affect them. They should not be merely a passenger. Lainie is trained to meet with children, to ensure they can participate in a legal or ADR process in a safe and protected manner.
